Why small-batch changes everything

Cooper Steele

When I roast Jacked Coffee, I roast in small quantities — enough to fill orders, not enough to sit in storage. There's no warehouse. There's no distribution chain. I roast, I pack, I ship. The gap between the roaster and your cup is days, not months.

That's not a marketing claim. That's just what small-batch means in practice. I physically cannot roast six months in advance — I don't have the storage, and more importantly, I don't want to. Fresh coffee is better coffee. That's the whole point.

The difference is real. Freshly roasted coffee blooms when you pour hot water over it — you'll actually see it bubble and expand, releasing CO₂. That bloom is how you know the coffee is alive. Stale coffee doesn't bloom. It just sits there and gets wet.
